The Gorgeous George was invented by Paul Cantillon from Cork and has been one of the most popular fly patterns of recent years. It is a difficult fly to tie involving alot of materials and is a bit bumble,a bit hopper. It is a great pattern for daphnia feeders and has been succesful for both brown trout, sea trout and salmon and even rainbows. It is a particular favourite on Lough Melvin but is fished everywhere. This is the original dressing but there are now many variants. See Gorgeous George Sooty JC and Gorgeous Claret JC.
