I’ve been fishing since I was old enough to hold a rod. Over the past 40-odd years, I’ve fished rivers, lochs, lakes, and coastal marks across Ireland, Scotland, Scandinavia, and even as far as Canada. I grew up chasing trout and salmon, but I’ve also spent plenty of time course fishing and sea fishing. I’ll happily cast a fly, float, or lure depending on where I am and what’s biting.

These days, I run Mid Antrim Angling Centre. We’ve built a reputation for honest advice, properly tested gear, and supporting anglers at every level. I write these blogs to share what I’ve learned the hard way. What works, what doesn’t, and where the real joy of fishing lies.
